About Paul

Paul S. Adler is a certified Project Management Professional (P.M.P.) with over thirty years of IT-related business experience. He has managed numerous software and course development projects and has been involved in all aspects of the systems development life cycle. He is particularly experienced with establishing Project Management Offices in which project management tools and techniques are utilized on a consistent basis to plan, monitor and report on systems integration and IT-related projects. He also specializes in project management software tools, specifically Microsoft Project.

He has participated in the establishment of Project Management Offices (PMOs) at Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, NetManage Inc., Corning Inc. and Public Works and Government Services Canada. The methodology for the PMOs consisted of Practical Project Management and Microsoft Project workshops followed by the creation of Project Charters, Work Breakdown Structures, Project Plans, Schedules with Gantt Charts, Networks Diagrams (PERT Charts), Status Reports, Risk Analysis, Change Control and Project Evaluation and Closeout documents and templates.

In addition, Mr. Adler has presented over 500 practical project management and Microsoft Project workshops to more than 6000 professionals during the past 20 years. His courses are based on the internationally recognized standard known as the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) developed by the Project Management Institute. Mr. Adler has provided on-site Project Management and Microsoft Project training to project managers at Lockheed-Martin Astronautics and Analex Inc. (NASA contractors) at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

He consistently applies a logical, systematic approach to project management consulting & training that is based on his scientific background and training experience. His techniques are derived from his expertise in managing software development, course design and delivery projects as well as from his excellent communications skills and sense of humour.
